The Details

  • River fishing is suitable for all levels of ability, from complete novices through to those who compete both nationally and internationally. Participants must be in good general health with good fitness.

Children over 12 can take part, but we recommend trout loch fishing rather than river fishing for younger children.

Our fishing is available to residents only.

  • We offer river fishing on any day of the week except Sundays.

You will meet the ghillie at the fishing lodge at 9am and fish for the day, stopping for lunch and coffee breaks at your leisure.

  • Refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits are provided in the lodge.

We provide fishing rods and tackle.

Use of the lodge for the whole day is included.

  • While there is the lodge to shelter in if the weather takes a turn, you will be exposed to the elements for the duration of the activity.

You must bring waterproof wellington boots and a waterproof jacket.

Most beginners will be fishing from the bank. We do have some waders for guest use, but we do not have a wide range of sizes.

The equipment we provide is intended for those new to the sport. If you are an experienced angler, bring your own rods, tackle and waders.

  • You are very welcome to pack your own picnic to have in the lodge, or you can book one of ours to be delivered to you at lunchtime, so that you can just relax and enjoy the day.

  • We allow guests to take up to 2 brown trout over 10 inches in length home.

However, all salmon and sea trout angling on the River Deveron is currently 100% catch and release. You can learn more about the River Deveron from the Deveron Bogie & Isla River Trust.

  • The price of the experience comprises of the ghillie fee plus fishing permits.
